Card. Carlos Aguiar Retes emphasizes the importance of conscience in fulfilling duties
Cardinal Carlos Aguiar Retes stated that a well-formed conscience is essential for people to fulfill their duties. During a liturgical reflection, he explained that individuals must use discernment to distinguish God's will from personal desires or attractions. Aguiar Retes noted that the teachings of Jesus serve as the guide for understanding what God expects. He suggested that people should move beyond intellectual understanding to let these truths reach the heart, where the will is shaped. The Cardinal encouraged the practice of meditation to recognize spiritual movements within a person. He used the example of feeling an internal impulse to provide food to a hungry migrant as a way to identify how God speaks to the individual.
