The Archdiocese of Manila is the oldest and primatial Latin Church metropolitan see in the Philippines, created as a diocese in 1579 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1595. Its seat is the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, led since 2021 by Cardinal Jose Advincula.

History

In Metro Manila, Philippines, the Latin Church maintains the Archdiocese of Manila (Latin: Archidioecesis Manilensis; Filipino: Arkidiyosesis ng Maynilà; Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Manila). Its territory embraces the cities of Manila, Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasay, and San Juan, along with the Embo barangays of Taguig that once belonged to Makati and the EDSA Shrine in Quezon City.
