Taranto is a Latin rite metropolitan archdiocese in Apulia, southern Italy, with roots dating to the first millennium and elevated to archiepiscopal rank in the medieval period. It is the metropolitan for the suffragan dioceses of Castellaneta and Oria, and is led by Archbishop Ciro Miniero.

History
On a bay in the Gulf of Taranto in southern Italy lies the Archdiocese of Taranto (Latin: Archidioecesis Tarentina), a Latin Church archdiocese whose suffragan sees are the dioceses of Castellaneta and Oria.
