Armenian Catholic archeparchy established in 1630, immediately dependent on the Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia. The see has been vacant since World War II (last administered by Fr. Dionizy Kajetanowicz, 1938-1944); its former cathedral, the Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Lviv, now serves the Armenian Apostolic Church, and remaining faithful are pastorally served by the Armenian Catholic Ordinariate of Eastern Europe.

History
From 1630 until 1944, Lviv was the seat of an Armenian Catholic archeparchy, a non-Metropolitan archdiocese of the Armenian Catholic Church sui iuris following the Armenian Rite. Rather than belonging to any ecclesiastical province, it answered immediately to the Armenian Catholic Patriarch of Cilicia, and in Rome it fell under the Congregation for the Oriental Churches. Its onetime cathedral, the Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary in Lviv, a minor World Heritage landmark, now serves as an Armenian Apostolic Church.
