The Latin rite Diocese of Nha Trang on Vietnam's south-central coast was erected as an Apostolic Vicariate on 5 July 1957 and elevated to a diocese on 24 November 1960, covering Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces. A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Hue, its cathedral is the Cathedral of Christ the King in Nha Trang.

History

Spanning 9,486 km² across the Provinces of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nha Trang (Latin: Dioecesis Nhatrangensis) is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Huế, its present form declared on November 24, 1960. Christ the King Cathedral in Nha Trang serves as its cathedral. By 2013 the diocese counted about 200,385 Catholics (11.2% of the population), 191 priests, and 90 parishes.

Following a bilateral meeting with the director-general, the pope signed the guestbook and exchanged gifts.
