Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Belmont (the Bronx's Little Italy) opened as a mission in 1906; the upper church was dedicated in 1917. It is a national parish offering Italian, Spanish, and English Masses and forms the Belmont Catholic Community with St. Martin of Tours.
