The Archdiocese of New York, erected as a diocese in 1808 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1850, is the metropolitan see for the Province of New York. Ronald A. Hicks was installed as the 11th archbishop on February 6, 2026, succeeding Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
