Holy Trinity parish in El Cajon traces its origin to 1903 under Father Edmond Lapointe, beginning as Mission Saint Mary's. After a fire destroyed its church in 1917 the community rebuilt, and the parish later gave rise to four additional parishes in the El Cajon area.
