A Mission Trip: It’s about the Children – This Year’s Tanzanian Trip
Parishioners from the diocese traveled to Tanzania from August 3 to August 18 to work on projects at Mrawi Primary School near Moshi. The mission trip, which marks the fifth consecutive summer for the group, was led by Father Milton Kiocha of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Grove City.
The group included Steve Maddox, Andy Johns, and Ben Johns from Our Lady of Perpetual Help; Mary Joseph from Canton; Mary-Sibyly Kress from Cleveland; and Bob Lagnese and Deacon Reed Hauser from Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Chillicothe and Waverly. Prosper Assenga served as the group's interpreter, driver, and engineer.
The visit coincided with the 25th anniversary of Father Kiocha's ordination, which was celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish in Moshi. Four members of the group also participated in a five-day safari in the Serengeti.
