Bishop Earl Fernandes leads students in praying the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary
Bishop Earl Fernandes led more than 200 students, parents, and school staff in praying the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary during the third annual All Diocesan Schools Rosary at Columbus St. Joseph Cathedral on Thursday. The event honored Our Lady of the Rosary and included participants from 40 schools across the 23-county diocese.
While schools were encouraged to send two student representatives to the cathedral, some groups brought as many as 45 students. Participating schools ranged from Cristo Rey Columbus High School near the cathedral to Tuscarawas Junior/Senior High School in New Philadelphia.
The gathering featured music by the diocese director of music, Dr. Richard Fitzgerald, and songs from the Lancaster St. Mary of the Assumption School student choir. Families and students throughout the diocese participated via a live stream, and St. Gabriel Radio broadcast the event live.
