Priests, religious brothers and sisters, and laypeople from the Archdiocese of Durango, the Prelature of El Salto, and the dioceses of Gómez Palacio, Mazatlán, and Torreón met on September 18 and 19 for the XII Provincial Pastoral Assembly at the Seminario Conciliar Mayor de Durango. Archbishop Faustino Armendáriz Jiménez of Durango hosted the gathering.

The assembly focused on the theme of building a culture of vocations within the province's evangelization efforts. Archbishop Armendáriz Jiménez stated that the goal was to understand and discern commitments from the CXX Plenary Assembly of bishops through prayer, dialogue, and listening. Participants worked to establish specific strategies and actions to support synodal growth.

During the event, the archbishop encouraged attendees to promote shared responsibility among various commissions and dimensions, renew existing structures, and advance the ongoing mission of the Church. Bishop Luis Martín Barraza Beltrán and Pastoral Vicar Sergio Arturo Díaz represented the Diocese of Torreón at the assembly.
