Diocese de Cajazeiras holds Abraça Jovem in Coremas and Riacho dos Cavalos

The Diocese of Cajazeiras held two editions of the Abraça Jovem youth gatherings in Coremas and Riacho dos Cavalos on September 19 and 20. These events brought together young people from the Pombal and Catolé do Rocha deaneries as part of the diocese's 2026 Year of Youth.

On Saturday, September 19, the gathering for the Pombal deanery began at the São Pedro and São Paulo Chapel in Coremas. Participants walked in a procession to the Santa Rita de Cássia Parish Church. Bishop Francisco de Assis Gabriel dos Santos, C.Ss.R., joined priests Igor Duarte, Francisco Júnior, and Francisco Alves for a program that included a dialogue with the bishop, preaching, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Father Francisco Júnior celebrated the Mass.

The second gathering took place on Sunday, September 20, in Riacho dos Cavalos for the Catolé do Rocha deanery. Hundreds of young people participated in a procession led by the Cefas Community. The event included music by DJ Damião Jr. from Obra Alégrate. Bishop Francisco de Assis Gabriel dos Santos presided over the final Mass, which was concelebrated by Father Thiers Queiroga, Father Igor Duarte, and Father Francisco Júnior.
