Annual Hispanic Heritage Mass Celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral
More than 800 people attended the annual Hispanic Heritage Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on October 4. The Spanish Sunday Mass honored Hispanic Heritage Month and coincided with the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
Father Enrique Salvo, the cathedral rector, served as the principal celebrant and homilist. During closing remarks, organizer Arlett Rojas thanked the Archdiocese of New York, the Cultural Diversity Apostolate, and the volunteers and organizations involved in the liturgy.
The Mass took place one week before the annual Hispanic Day Parade. The parade is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, starting at noon at 44th Street and Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan and ending at 69th Street.
