Bishop Hagemoen Celebrates Mass for Catholic Student Leadership Conference
Bishop Mark Hagemoen presided at Mass for hundreds of Greater Saskatoon Catholic School students during an annual leadership conference on Oct. 22. The event, held at the Cathedral of the Holy Family, brought together junior high delegates from across the division for a day of training, prayer, and learning.
The conference theme, "Called and Chosen," coincided with the memorial of St. John Paul II. During the celebration, Bishop Hagemoen told students that leadership involves community engagement and care for others rather than indifference. He encouraged the delegates to find meaning in small actions and reminded them that God has a unique plan for each of them.
Reflecting on the nature of service, the bishop used the example of Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd to explain that true leaders walk alongside those they serve. He told the students that their leadership is necessary to help hold the community together.
