Bishop Jerzy Mazur SVD celebrates 30th anniversary of Katolickie Stowarzyszenie Niepełnosprawnych Diecezji Ełckiej and Warsztaty Terapii Zajęciowej w Ełku

Bishop Jerzy Mazur SVD led a thanksgiving Mass to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Catholic Association of the Disabled of the Diocese of Ełk and the Occupational Therapy Workshops in Ełk. The celebration took place at the church of św. Rafała Kalinowskiego in Ełk, where parish priest Marcin Koncewicz SDB welcomed attendees.

The association began its work in 1995 through the efforts of Helena Arciszewska and a group centered around Monsignor Tadeusz Herman to support youth with disabilities. Bishop Wojciech Ziemba officially established the Catholic Association of the Disabled of the Diocese of Ełk in October 1995, and the Occupational Therapy Workshops began operating one year later.

The workshops currently serve 65 people with disabilities, helping them develop skills and prepare for independent living. During his homily, Bishop Mazur described the workshops as a space of hope and noted the importance of instructors and staff in helping participants overcome barriers.
