Bishop Michael F. Burbidge statement for Respect Life Month: A Decisive Moment for our Commonwealth

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge issued a statement for Respect Life Month to highlight the dignity of human life and the various support services available through the Church. As Catholics observe the month throughout October, the Bishop emphasized the importance of accompanying mothers facing difficult pregnancies and supporting those grieving the loss of a child.

The Diocese of Arlington provides several resources to assist families, including the Gabriel Project for parish-based pregnancy support and Catholic Charities programs for pregnancy and adoption. Financial assistance is available to expectant families or those who have experienced pregnancy loss through Gift for Life.

For those seeking healing after participating in an abortion, Project Rachel offers confidential care. Bishop Burbidge also noted that most abortions in the United States currently involve abortion pills, which he stated carry increased health risks for mothers.
