Canadian nonprofit creates space for Catholic art to reach secular audiences
The Canadian nonprofit Theopolis supports Catholic artists and invites people of all backgrounds to encounter faith through art and culture. Founded in 2025 by Eden O’Brien and Monica Sifert, the organization provides Canadian artists with the visibility, resources, and support necessary to focus on their craft.
O’Brien and Sifert met while attending Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College in Ontario and graduated in 2018. The project, whose name means "city of God," uses the biblical story of the apostle Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch as a motif. O’Brien noted that the story illustrates how people can engage with media they do not fully understand, which can prepare the soul for faith. The organization operates through two main areas, including a community side to support its participating artists.
