Caritas Nairobi Engages Media to Amplify Stories of Transformation Among Vulnerable Communities
Caritas Nairobi held a media breakfast on October 2 at Cardinal Otunga Plaza to begin working with journalists to share stories of transformation within the Archdiocese of Nairobi. Communications Coordinator Paschal Norbert stated the organization wants to help journalists understand its humanitarian and development work to create opportunities for wider collaboration.
Norbert said the organization currently lacks a platform to share the impact of its programs, such as self-reliance groups from various parishes supporting vulnerable people outside their own faith communities. He also noted that the organization works with young people rescued from the streets to help them rebuild their lives.
The media engagement serves as the first event of its kind for the organization to showcase its four core programs, which include socioeconomic empowerment and relief. Through this outreach, Caritas Nairobi intends to increase public awareness of its various humanitarian and development initiatives across the Kenyan archdiocese.
