Bishop Lauro Tisi to preside at Mass for deceased priests and meet with diocesan clergy on September 30

Archbishop Lauro Tisi presided over a Mass for deceased bishops and priests of the Diocese of Trento on September 30. The celebration at the Cathedral included Archbishop Emeritus Luigi Bressan and approximately 30 priests. During his homily, Tisi reflected on the humanity of Jesus, suggesting that deceased priests embodied qualities such as forgiveness, listening, and caring for others.

Following the Mass, the diocesan clergy met at the Seminary for a traditional gathering to begin the new pastoral year. Tisi delivered a meditation during this meeting, which serves as the start of a formation program for priests and deacons.

The 2026-2027 formation calendar, coordinated by Episcopal Vicar for Clergy Formation Don Tiziano Telch, includes several upcoming events. On November 5, Professor Serena Noceti will lead a session on Church ministries at the Seminary. A spiritual retreat led by Sister Chiara Curzel is scheduled for December 3. In 2027, the diocese plans three evening online meetings for new pastoral and zone councils on February 3, April 7, and May 12.
