Seminar on work and artificial intelligence to take place Tuesday, October 27

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The seminar "Work between today and tomorrow: being creative in good with Magnifica Humanitas" will be held on Tuesday, October 27, at 9:15 a.m. in the Sala Ricci of the Fondazione Culturale San Fedele. The event is sponsored by the Cei national office for social problems and labor.

Don Bruno Bignami, director of the Cei national office for social problems and labor, said the topic of work has been central since Rerum Novarum and is even more so in the context of artificial intelligence. He stated that Magnifica Humanitas proposes an attention to ensuring that the use of AI does not lead to a loss of jobs or the loss of human centrality. He warned against using technology for efficiency to evaluate human labor, which he said would result in a technocratic logic that fails to highlight the person.

The program includes an introductory talk by the Archbishop and conclusions by Episcopal Vicar Monsignor Luca Bressan. Other speakers include representatives from Cisl and business economics professor Davide Maggi.
