Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Asociación Merklin de Amigos del Órgano de la Región de Murcia, in collaboration with the Cabildo Catedralicio, will begin the 11th Murcia International Organ Cycle on October 29. Víctor Perea, organist of the Santa Cruz church in Madrid, will perform the first concert.

Performances will take place every Thursday in November at 20:30. Scheduled musicians include Jean Pierre Lecaudey, organist of Saint Rémy de Provence; Andreas Liebig, organist in the cathedral of Basilea; and Mar Vaqué, organist of the Johan Baptist church in Munich. Javier Artigas will perform the final concert on November 26.

Concerts are free until capacity is reached. The cycle features the Merklin-Schütze organ, which was built in Brussels in 1855 and inaugurated on July 8, 1857. The event has support from the Ayuntamiento de Murcia, the Instituto de las Industrias Culturales y de las Artes, and the Fundación Cajamurcia.
