Conferencia Episcopal Española releases videopodcasts on 60th anniversary

The Spanish Episcopal Conference is releasing a series of four videopodcasts to mark its 60th anniversary. Produced by Ábside Media Producciones, the series features interviews with recent presidents of the conference: Cardinal Antonio María Rouco Varela, Cardinal Ricardo Blázquez Pérez, Cardinal Juan José Omella, and the current president, Bishop Luis J. Argüello García.

The interviews, conducted by Irene Pozo in the Plenary Assembly hall, cover the history of the institution and the specific challenges faced during each leader's term. The series began on October 21 with Cardinal Rouco Varela, the former Archbishop of Madrid who served multiple terms as president between 1999 and 2014. Subsequent episodes will be released on YouTube every Wednesday, featuring Cardinal Blázquez on October 28, Cardinal Omella on November 4, and Bishop Argüello on November 10.

The conference also plans to premiere a documentary titled "60 Years of the CEE: A Shared History" around the upcoming Plenary Assembly of Spanish bishops, scheduled for November 16 to 23. This anniversary year included a visit from Pope Leo XIV to the headquarters of the Spanish Episcopal Conference on June 8.
