Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith publishes Venite ad Me

The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith published Venite ad Me, titled Considerations on the Transmission of Faith in the Change of Era, on October 22, 2026. The document calls for the Church to return to the kerygma, or the core Gospel message, to address difficulties in passing faith from one generation to another.

Pope Leo XIV approved the text on August 21, 2026. It bears the signatures of Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernandez and Monsignor Armando Matteo. The document is a reflective text rather than a doctrinal note intended to establish final conclusions. It proposes ways to proclaim the Gospel amidst modern changes, including evangelization for adults and updated ways to accompany children and young people.

The text consists of an introduction, 8 chapters, and a conclusion. The chapters cover the announcement of the Father's love, the light of faith, the changing era, the centrality of the kerygma, faith transmission in communities, faith and culture, and specific areas of attention. The final chapter includes testimonies from bishops regarding people who have encountered or rediscovered Jesus.
