Cardinal Parolin celebrates Mass at St. John Paul II's tomb

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Cardinal Pietro Parolin celebrated Mass at the tomb of Saint John Paul II in St. Peter's Basilica on October 22, the saint's liturgical memorial day. The Vatican Secretary of State presided over the liturgy, which was attended by numerous faithful and priests.

During his homily, Parolin asked for the gift of peace through the intercession of the late Polish pope. Addressing a world affected by wars, Parolin cited the saint's 2005 teaching that peace is a good to be promoted through goodness, and must be protected and cultivated through good choices and actions.
