Diocesan Day of Mass Media Apostolate celebrated in the Archdiocese
The Archdiocese of Goa and Daman celebrated its annual Day of Mass Media Apostolate at Holy Family Church in Marcela. Episcopal Vicar for Religious Fr. Jouquim Fernandes, SVD, presided over the Eucharistic celebration alongside Fr. Barry Cardozo, Director of the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, and Fr. George SFX.
During the homily, Fr. Barry Cardozo called on people to be messengers of good news to help build a communion of communities. He spoke about the moral responsibilities of media professionals and citizen journalists to follow ethical journalism standards and promote the social good.
Fr. Cardozo also referenced the World Communication Day message from Pope Leo XIV, which addressed challenges involving digital technology and artificial intelligence. He noted the Pope's call for innovation to protect truth, human dignity, and authentic personal connections instead of replacing real relationships. Fr. Jouquim Fernandes acknowledged the work of the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media and offered prayers for its success.
