Diocese of Abomey closes exhibition on Mgr AGBOKA
The Diocese of Abomey has concluded an exhibition honoring Bishop Lucien Monsi-Agboka, the first bishop of the diocese. Held at CEMOLA from June 5 to June 30, 2026, the event titled "Expo Mgr AGBOKA.100" commemorated the centenary of the late prelate's birth.
The exhibition featured three sections covering the bishop's family life, his time in the episcopate, and his various works. Displayed items included weaving tools such as spinning machines, shuttles, combs, and needles, as well as a sewing machine. Other exhibits consisted of Hanyé choir instruments and statues, decoration trophies, episcopal insignia, and photographs from his family life and priestly ordination.
Bishop Eugene Cyrille Houndekon supported the project as part of a broader effort to preserve and develop diocesan heritage. More than 273 people attended the exhibition, including Bishop Houndekon, priests, and relatives of Bishop Agboka. The event was organized by Father Yves Kpogue, Baudelaire Hedagbe, and Nelly Sekpo, with technical assistance from Father Albert Afolabi. The diocesan economy office funded the entire exhibition.
