Diocese of Anápolis holds 2026 Pastoral da Criança Assembly

The Pastoral da Criança of the Diocese of Anápolis held its 2026 Assembly on Saturday, 24, to evaluate current activities and plan actions for 2027. The meeting included diocesan coordinator Maria Nilda Alves Borges and ecclesiastical assessor Father Antônio Carlos Pereira Vieira.

Borges presented a history of the Pastoral da Criança in Anápolis, noting its establishment in 1988 by Sister Rita Cecília, who also served in the administration of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Anápolis. Borges emphasized the need to preserve this history while recognizing the work of current pastoral leaders.

The program included spiritual activities such as a Celebration of the Word, meditation, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Genilton Carlos Pinto and Nilzete A. Borges led the music and animation for the gathering.
