Diocese of Bridgeport pilgrims visit National Shrine of The Divine Mercy

About 40 parishioners from the Diocese of Bridgeport traveled to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, on the Feast Day of Saint James. The Lay Missionaries of Charity organized the pilgrimage, which used a coach bus to transport the group from St. Rose of Lima Church.

Parochial Vicar Father Cajetan Oleaghara accompanied the participants, many of whom walked the outdoor Stations of the Cross. Father Oleaghara noted that the pilgrimage is a journey of faith and a way to uplift spirits.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops designated the site as a national shrine in 1996.
