Diocese of East Anglia Hosts Eucharistic Congress
The Diocese of East Anglia held its first Eucharistic Congress, ECI26, in Ipswich from September 6 to 13, 2026. The week-long event celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the diocese and focused on the theme Mary, Woman of the Eucharist.
Priests Luke Goymour, Joseph Welch, and Jude Belnas led the congress alongside a committee of laypeople. The program included an ecumenical pilgrimage walk through Ipswich following the historic route of Cardinal Wolsey to the shrine of Our Lady of Grace.
The Ignite Youth Mission Team also worked with students at St Pancras, St Mark’s, St Mary’s, and St Alban’s Catholic Trust schools. These sessions used prayer and catechesis to help pupils explore the congress theme.
