Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Otukpo is appealing for prayers following the kidnapping of Father John Inalegwu Otache, the parish priest of St. Margaret’s Parish in Ajegbe Awume.

Father Otache was intercepted by kidnappers on October 13 while traveling along the Otobi Amejo–Ajegbe road in the Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. Diocesan chancellor Father Joseph Aboyi Itodo stated the priest was returning home from the town of Otukpo when the abduction occurred.

Bishop Michael Ekwoyi Apochi requested that the faithful and people of goodwill pray for the priest's safe and speedy return. The diocese said efforts to secure his release are being intensified.
