Diocese of Prato to launch fundraising campaign

The Diocese of Prato will launch a fundraising campaign to support its priests through the "United we can" project. Organized by the diocesan office of Sovvenire, the initiative asks each parish to collect at least 1,000 euros, roughly equivalent to one month of support for a priest, by the end of December.

Parishes will present the project and begin collecting donations during festive celebrations on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. The diocese will provide preprinted envelopes containing instructions for parishioners to submit contributions directly to their local churches. These donations are tax-deductible, and the diocese will send receipts to donors for use during tax filings.

The campaign seeks to provide financial support for approximately 31,000 priests across Italian dioceses to ensure a dignified life. This includes funding for elderly or sick priests, those serving in mission work, and those in small or poor communities unable to provide their own support. In 2025, the Diocese of Prato collected 649 donations, a 17% decrease from 2024.
