Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza church reopens for worship and visitors
The church of Sant'Ivo alla Sapienza reopened to the public on October 27 following a restoration project funded by the Pnrr. An agreement between the Archivio di Stato, the Diocese of Roma, and the Touring Club Italiano allows the site to reopen. Volunteers from the Touring Club Italiano will welcome visitors Monday through Friday from 9:30 to 13:30 as part of the “Aperti per voi” project.
Mass will be celebrated in the church every day at 9, except on Saturday, and on Sunday at 11. Monsignor Rosario Matera announced that concerts will be hosted twice a month starting in December. During a press conference on October 26, Matera also requested the construction of an organ and a glass canopy to protect the church from weather when the door is open.
