Dom Gilson Andrade celebrates 15 years of episcopal ministry

Bishop Gilson Andrade celebrated 15 years of episcopal ministry during a Thanksgiving Mass at the Santo Antônio de Jacutinga Cathedral on September 24. The celebration also marked the bishop's 60 years of life and 35 years of priesthood.

The Diocese of Nova Iguaçu gathered diocesan priests, bishops from the CNBB Regional Leste 1, and various pastoral community representatives for the event. Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro, attended the Mass and offered congratulations to Bishop Andrade. Local government officials, including Nova Iguaçu Mayor Dudu Reina, Vice Mayor Dra. Roberta, and Nilópolis Vice Mayor Alvinho, were also present.
