El Santísimo Cristo de la Exaltación presidirá el Viacrucis de Sevilla 2027

El Santísimo Cristo de la Exaltación will preside over the Via Crucis of Seville on February 15, 2027, at the Cathedral. The image was chosen by the Sección de Penitencia del Consejo General de Hermandades y Cofradías of the city.

The wooden statue was created in the second half of the 17th century. Some authors attribute the work to the circle of Pedro Roldán, while others attribute it to the sculptor himself, as it was not included in the contract signed on June 13, 1678, by Luis Antonio de los Arcos and Cristóbal de Guadix.
