Fr. Manuvel Pillai David has assumed office as the new Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna

Fr. Manuvel Pillai David has begun his duties as the new Vicar General of the Diocese of Jaffna. His appointment follows a decision made by Bishop Anton Ranjith on September 7.

The Diocese of Jaffna also announced several other administrative and pastoral changes. Fr. Arulanantham Yavis will serve as the Diocesan Procurator General, and Fr. Peter Amalathas Kamalraj has been appointed as the secretary to the bishop.

Other new assignments include Fr. Josephthas Jebaratnam as parish priest of Our Lady of Refuge Church in Jaffna and Fr. Nilan Julius as parish priest of Delft. Fr. Richard Oliver Terence will serve as the acting parish priest of Poonakary, while Fr. Charles Collins takes on the role of acting director of the Ahavoli Family Services Centre. These represent the first appointments made by Bishop Ranjith since he took office.
