Bishop Erio Castellucci to preside over Missionary Vigil

Bishop Erio Castellucci will preside over a missionary vigil on Friday, October 23, at 21:00 in the Carpi Cathedral. The Diocese of Carpi and the Diocese of Modena-Nonantola selected the life of Father Francesco Cavazzuti as the focus for this year's World Mission Day.

Professor Sebastião Donizete de Carvalho, author of the book "Profezia nell’oscurità. Storia di don Francesco Cavazzuti," will speak during the service. He witnessed the attack on August 27, 1987, in which an assassin attempted to kill Cavazzuti, an event that caused the blindness that accompanied him throughout his life. Cavazzuti dedicated his life to the people of Goias.

During a procession to the altar, participants will carry five colored flasks representing the five continents, Cavazzuti's glasses, and his missionary stole.
