Juan Arribas Paricio dies

The Diocese of Valencia reports the death of Father Juan Arribas Paricio, who passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the age of 92.

A native of Alba del Campo, Arribas Paricio studied in Barcelona and Rome before his ordination in Rome in 1957. He served the diocese for 69 years, beginning his ministry in 1968 as a parochial vicar at San Miguel Arcángel in Burjassot. He later served as a parochial vicar at San José in Torrent from 1968 to 1979, before becoming the parish priest of San Luis Bertrán in Torrent, a position he held until 1998. From 1998 until his retirement in 2005, he served as the chaplain of the General Hospital of Valencia.

His wake is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, from 16:00 to 21:00 at the Tanatorio San José de Torrent. Archbishop Enrique Benavent will preside over the funeral mass on Wednesday, September 23, at 16:30 at the San Luis Bertrán parish. He will be buried in the Panteón Sacerdotal of the Cementerio Parroquial de Torrent.
