La Diócesis recuerda a Mons. Antonio Ceballos en el cuarto aniversario de su fallecimiento

The Diocese of Cádiz y Ceuta marked the fourth anniversary of the death of Bishop Antonio Ceballos Atienza on September 21. The diocese offered prayers for the former bishop, who served as its leader for nearly two decades until 2011.

Born in Alcalá la Real in 1935, Ceballos Atienza died in Jaén in 2022 at the age of 87. He was ordained a priest on June 29, 1962, and held several roles in the diocese of Jaén, including director of the Jaén Seminary and canon of the Jaén Cathedral.

After serving as the bishop of Ciudad Rodrigo starting in 1988, he was appointed bishop of Cádiz y Ceuta on December 10, 1993. He took canonical possession of the diocese on January 29, 1994. During his tenure, he focused on pastoral work with priests, religious, and laity, while addressing social issues such as unemployment.
