Essen Cathedral singers complete concert tour in South Africa
The Essen Cathedral singers recently finished a 12-day concert tour in South Africa, performing six concerts at locations including Stellenbosch University, the Cape Town City Hall, and the Cape Town Cathedral. The 52 singers performed alongside South African children and youth.
Harald Martini, the director of the Essen Cathedral singers, stated that the group connected with local children through music. The trip included a reunion with the South Cape Children’s Choir, which visited Essen in May.
The group also visited the HOPE organization in Cape Town. Founded in 2001 by the German priest Stephan Hippler, the organization supports children and youth facing poverty and unemployment.
