Bishop Sebastián Chico Martínez presides over the canonical coronation of Nuestra Señora del Alcázar

Bishop Sebastián Chico Martínez presided over the canonical coronation of Nuestra Señora del Alcázar, the patron saint of Baeza, during a solemn Mass. The event drew more than 7,000 faithful and devotees to the city.

The celebration included several bishops, including retired bishops Ramón del Hoyo López and Amadeo Rodríguez Magro. Other participating clergy included Vicar General José Antonio Sánchez, territorial vicar Bartolomé López, the parish priest of Santa María del Alcázar and San Andrés Apóstol Andrés Nájera, and Cathedral Dean Francisco Juan Martínez Rojas.

The coronation took place as Baeza commemorates eight centuries of the restoration of Christian worship. During the procession, 68 damas horquilleras carried the image of the Virgin along the paseo de la Constitución. The ceremony was attended by Baeza Mayor Pedro Javier Cabrera Rentero, municipal officials, and members of the Real Archicofradía de Santa María del Alcázar y San Andrés Apóstol.
