French government officials plan to replace the Parcoursup post-baccalaureate orientation platform in two stages
According to a government source cited by AFP and Le Parisien, the platform will undergo reforms in 2027 before a new system replaces it in 2028. For the 2027 campaign, Parcoursup will remain in use, but higher education programs will be required to justify student refusals and use more transparent selection criteria.
The government also intends to increase student grants. Education Minister Édouard Geffray and Higher Education Minister Philippe Baptiste are scheduled to provide further details during a press conference.
