Pastoral da Criança holds 2026 assembly to plan for 2027

The Pastoral da Criança of the Diocese of Anápolis held its 2026 assembly on Saturday, 24, to evaluate recent activities and plan actions for 2027. Diocesan coordinator Maria Nilda Alves Borges and ecclesiastical assessor Father Antônio Carlos Pereira Vieira joined pastoral leaders for the meeting.

Maria Nilda Alves Borges presented a history of the Pastoral da Criança in Anápolis, noting its 1988 establishment by Sister Rita Cecília, who also served at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Anápolis. The coordinator emphasized the need to preserve this history while recognizing the work of current leaders.

The program included spiritual activities such as a Celebration of the Word, meditation, and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Genilton Carlos Pinto and Nilzete A. Borges led the music and animation for the gathering.
