Pastoral Familiar holds XI Congress in Volta Redonda

The Family Pastoral held its XI Congress in Volta Redonda from September 11 to 13. Organizers announced that Rio will host the event in 2029.

Cardinal Orani João Tempesta, archbishop of São Sebastião, presided over the opening Mass. In his homily, the cardinal emphasized the importance of the family as a guardian of faith in the current context.

The congress included Bishop Luiz Henrique da Silva Brito of the Diocese of Barra do Piraí and Volta Redonda, Bishop Antonio Augusto Dias Duarte, Bishop Thiago Stanislaw, Bishop Tarcísio Nascentes dos Santos of the Diocese of Caxias, and Bishop Gilson Andrade da Silva of the Diocese of Nova Iguaçu. Representatives from the Encontro de Casais com Cristo, Aliança de Casais com Cristo, Encontro Matrimonial Mundial, Movimento Familiar Cristão, and Equipes de Nossa Senhora also participated.
