Patriarch Bartolomeo I to visit Loreto
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I will visit the Holy House of Loreto on Monday, October 26, 2026. The Pontifical Delegate, Bishop Fabio Dal Cin, announced the visit during a Mass for the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Patriarch will venerate the relic of the Holy House and bless a new icon of the Virgin inspired by an ancient image kept at the sanctuary until 1400. Bishop Dal Cin stated that providing the icon serves as a sign of communion.
Pope Leo XIV encouraged and blessed the visit during a private meeting with Bishop Dal Cin on January 5.
