The Nasce una vita project celebrates ten years in Prato
The Nasce una vita project marks its tenth anniversary in Prato. Launched in 2016 by the Sant’Anna Oratory, the initiative welcomes newborns at the Santo Stefano hospital by lighting colored panels on the facade of the Sant’Anna church. Blue lights signify male births and pink lights signify female births. Approximately 12300 children have been born in Prato since the project began.
Parents in the maternity ward can now scan a dedicated QR code to trigger a white light on the corresponding pink or blue panel on the church facade. Two side panels will provide information about the project to passersby.
A celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 12:30. Corrado Caiano, the project coordinator and head of the Sant’Anna Oratory, will be joined by Bishop Giovanni Nerbini, Mayor Matteo Biffoni, and the hospital's health director, Maria Teresa Machi. Representatives from supporting organizations will also attend a commemorative photo session. The project receives support from the Diocese, Prato, Asl Toscana Centro, Movimento per la Vita, Centro di Aiuto alla Vita, and Fondazione Ami.
