Prep Soccer Coaches Provide Silva Lining to NYPD Team
Two NYPD officers and former St. Francis Prep soccer players, Brandon and Justin Silva, serve as assistant coaches for the boys' varsity soccer team at St. Francis Prep in Fresh Meadows.
Brandon Silva, 30, graduated from the school in 2014 and holds the program record for assists. Justin Silva, 25, graduated in 2019 and holds the school record for shutouts. Both brothers played collegiate soccer at LIU Post and Farmingdale State University, respectively, before beginning their careers in the police force.
The brothers work alongside assistant coach Pantelis Zioulis and head coach Franco Purificato. They balance their coaching duties with their schedules as police officers and members of the NYPD soccer team.
