Pro-Life Mass returns to the Cathedral to kick off Respect Life month celebrations throughout the Diocese
The Diocese of Covington will celebrate a Pro-Life Mass on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington to begin Respect Life Month. Bishop John Iffert will celebrate the Mass, and Father Michael Hennigen, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish, will deliver the homily.
The annual event, organized by the diocesan Pro-Life Office, marks the start of a month of prayer for life established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This year's theme is "Mary, Mother of Life, Pray for Us," which honors Mary as a model for a culture of life.
Faye Roch, director of the Pro-Life Office, said the Mass serves to bring the diocesan community together to pray for the sanctity of life and the dignity of life from conception to natural death.
