Regional Norte 1 holds 53rd Assembly

97 representatives from nine local churches are meeting in Manaus for the 53rd North Regional 1 Assembly to establish regional guidelines for evangelization in the Amazon. The assembly, organized by the North Regional 1 of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB Norte 1), began on Monday, September 14, at the Centro de Formação Maromba.

Participants are discussing ways to update evangelization efforts based on the realities of the Amazon. The meeting is scheduled to run until September 17, when the group will define the regional directives for their missionary work.
