The Archdiocese of Manaus is a Latin Church metropolitan archdiocese in Amazonas state, Brazil, erected as the Diocese of Amazonas in 1892 and elevated to a metropolitan archdiocese in 1952. Its current ordinary is Cardinal Leonardo Ulrich Steiner, O.F.M., the first cardinal from the Amazon region.

Pope Leo XIV receives image of Our Lady of the Amazon
Pope Leo XIV received an image of Our Lady of the Amazon during a meeting at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican on September 7. Father Adelson Araújo dos Santos, a Jesuit priest and professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University, delivered the gift. He is originally from Manaus. Cardinal Pedro Ricardo Barreto Jimeno, former president of CEAMA, also participated in the audience.
