EcoPhilly to host Synodal Listening Sessions

EcoPhilly will host a synodal listening session on Monday, Sept. 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the St. Raphaela Center, located at 616 Coopertown Road in Haver.

As the creation care ministry for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, EcoPhilly organized the session to provide a space for local Catholics to discuss environmental issues such as extreme weather, rising utility costs, and the impact of industrial construction on their communities. The session is part of the Season of Creation, which runs from Sept. 1 to Oct. 4.

This local effort joins a national program run by the Laudato Si’ Movement and the Catholic Climate Covenant. Organizers will submit responses from these sessions to national program leaders to create a synthesis document. This document is scheduled to be presented to the USCCB next year.
